Holiday Concert and Raffle - December 11th at Washburn High School.
Join us for our upcoming Winter Holiday Concert, Raffle and Treats event on December 11 at 7pm at Washburn High School. The concert is free to attend and will include all your holiday favorites!
We are also holding a raffle for the pictured items in the flyer where proceeds go to our Ralph Sowden Memorial Scholarship fund.
Then after the concert will have holiday treats to share!

How to join us
Our band has grown tremendously over the last few years with lots of enthusiastic musicians joining. We have a waitlist available for all sections at this time. To join our waitlist, please complete this form, and we will reach out should any openings become available in the future.

General information about the Northeast Community Band!
We gather Thursday nights during the school year as an adult group (including sometimes high school students) to play concert band music, such as marches, show tunes, original works for wind symphony, holiday arrangements, and anything else we can scrounge up. We rehearse from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the band room at Edison High School in Northeast Minneapolis and play about four concerts between September and May.
Most members have their own instruments, but not all. Some played or play now in school. Others have taken up instruments recently as adults.
There are no auditions and all skill sets are welcome. It does not matter if you last played in High School or College, or if you continue to play today. We do ask however, that you read music proficiently and know how to keep time by following a conductor.
Dues are $70 annually for adults and you can pay as you go, within reason. We offer a three-rehearsal “trial period” at no cost. Junior high and high school students are free. Dues may now be paid online using our Stripe payments account, and by check or cash during rehearsal.
As a 501(c)3, we welcome charitable donations.

We are requesting all playing members:
stay at home whenever you are feeling unwell, and we appreciate if you contact your section leader or the email below when you'll miss a rehearsal or performance
be vaccinated against COVID-19 (boosters encouraged)
please contact us if you test positive for COVID-19 after attending a rehearsal or concert, so we may further notify others

We also have community gigs that present themselves throughout the season. If you would like some music entertainment for a community event you are planning, feel free to contact us. We love performing out in the community.
